Dari Aisyah r.a katanya:”Rasulullah SAW sering berpuasa sehingga kami mengira bahawa baginda akan berpuasa seterusnya. Dan baginda sering berbuka sehingga kami mengira beliau akan berbuka terus. Dan aku tidak pernah melihat baginda berpuasa terus sebulan penuh kecuali pada bulan Ramadhan. Dan aku juga tidak pernah melihat baginda berpuasa sunat dalam sebulan yang lebih banyak daripada puasanya di bulan Syaaban.”
